Best backup solutions for small business

Backups are what let a small business recover from ransomware, a stolen laptop or a deleted folder. A common rule is 3-2-1: three copies, on two kinds of storage, one off-site. Cloud backup handles the off-site copy.

How we chose

  • Encryption, including a private key option.
  • Two-factor login to the backup account.
  • Clear published pricing (we note when a vendor does not publish a price).

Every price and feature on this page comes from the vendor's own website or documentation, checked on 8 November 2026 and linked under each option. Prices change often and may exclude tax (including SST). Confirm on the vendor page before you buy. Read our methodology.

FAQ

Is Google Drive or OneDrive a backup?

Sync services copy deletions and ransomware-encrypted files too. They have version history, but a separate backup with its own login is safer.

How often should we test a restore?

At least every few months, and after any big change. A backup you have never restored is a guess.

Does PDPA require backups?

The Personal Data Protection Standard 2015 includes security and retention measures for personal data. See our PDPA checklist for the official links.
